Cleanup Scope
Can I clear my entire watch history?
Yes. One click clears every entry in your watch history. You can also filter by date (e.g. older than 1 year) to keep recent videos while clearing the rest. Runs at ~1.6s per item — about 25 minutes for 1,000 videos.
Will clearing history affect recommendations?
Yes — that's usually the point. Clearing your watch history gives the YouTube algorithm a fresh slate. Your recommendations will start reflecting your current interests instead of the things you watched years ago.
Can I bulk unsubscribe from inactive channels?
Yes. Set an inactivity window (e.g. 6 months, 1 year) and SocialEraser finds channels with no uploads in that window and unsubscribes from them in bulk. Adjustable to taste.
What about playlists?
You can delete entire playlists or remove individual videos from any playlist you own. SocialEraser cannot edit other people's playlists.
Safety
Will my channel get affected?
Clearing watch history, likes, and subscriptions only affects your personal account — your channel, uploads, and subscriber count stay untouched. The same caveat applies as with any third-party tool — we are not affiliated with Google LLC.
Can I undo a clear?
YouTube does not keep a backup of your watch or search history once cleared. We strongly recommend requesting Google Takeout for your YouTube data before any bulk clear, so you have a personal archive.
What if YouTube changes their UI?
SocialEraser fetches its DOM selector schema from a remote CDN. When YouTube ships UI changes, we push an update — no extension reinstall needed. The update is automatic and silent.

Does it work on the new YouTube layout?
Yes. SocialEraser supports both the new YouTube Material Design and the legacy layout. The selector schema is updated weekly to match YouTube's latest UI changes.
Does it work on the YouTube mobile app?
No. YouTube's mobile app does not allow browser extensions. SocialEraser runs in Chrome on desktop. A dedicated mobile companion is on the 2027 roadmap.
Can I run it on multiple Google accounts?
Yes — use separate browser profiles for each Google account. Multi-account within a single profile is on the Pro tier roadmap.
